Wikipedia describes a vitamin as: being an organic compound required as a nutrient in tiny amounts by an organism.Vitamins for the purposes of this site come in two types water soluble and fat soluble.
Water soluble vitamins are vitamins B, and C. These vitamins dissolve in water and are excreted from the body daily-and must be replaced. Usually they are replaced in the food we eat. If you eat a well balanced diet, you should get suitable amounts of both B and C to maintain your health. If your diet is not so balanced then you should think about taking a good multi-vitamin on a daily basis.
Fat soluble vitamins are stored in your liver as well as your body’s fat cells. Vitamins A, D, E,and K are the fat soluble vitamins. These vitamins tend to leave the body much slower than water soluble vitamins, and that is why there can be toxicity issues with vitamins A and D.
